UPDATE: 1/17: http://rt.com/news/267643-earthquake-everest-move-mountain/ A April/2015 earthquake in Nepal actually caused Mt. Everest to MOVE, maybe about one inch! In February, 2017, an expedition of scientists will spend about a month measuring Mt. Everest to see if it remains its official height of 29,029 ft. It will be the first time Mt. Everest will have been measured in about 60 years. They will need a very BIG tape measure! :-)



In 1923, English mountaineer George Mallory was asked,”Why do you want to climb Mt. Everest?” HIs response, “Because it’s there.” Thousands has been trying to summit the world’s highest mountain peak since this time. Learn about Mt. Everest, Nepal and the Yeti with this webquest!
