Exit tickets to use as formative assessment for 4 digit by 1 digit, 2 digit by 2 digit, 3 digit by two digit, and mixed multiplication skills.
Through collaboration with our school Math Coach, we realized that students cannot be expected to multiply decimals if they do not have a solid foundation in multiplying whole numbers. By building a solid foundation in students’ multiplication strategies, they will be able to move on to more advanced and complex concepts.
One way I use these exit tickets to differentiate based on my student’s needs, is pulling small groups and explicitly teaching the skill that group of learner’s needs. I then use these exit tickets as formative assessment data.
