This game is a great addition to your Math Workshop. Students play with a partner to multiply multi-digit numbers by a one-digit number. Students flip digit cards to make a multi-digit number, practice using the distributive property to check for reasonableness, and multiply to find the product. The object of the game is to make the largest number possible with the digits flipped. The player with the most points wins the game.
This game could be copied multiple times and used as a whole classroom activity where students work with partners. Or just make a few copies and put it in your Math Workshop resources. My kids enjoyed playing this game and go back to it during Math Workshop time.
This product includes directions, student recording sheets for 2-digit x 1-digit, 3-digit times 1-digit, and 4-digit times 1-digit equations and number cards. Laminate and use year after year.
Meets CCSS 4.NBT.5 This would also be a great review for beginning fifth grade or for advanced third grade students.
