5.NBT.5

4.OA.B4

Lessons:

1. Prime Factorization

2. Powers and Exponents

3. Multiply by Powers of 10 Exponents

4. Multiply Multi-Digit Numbers with Partial Products/Area Models

5. Multiply Multi-Digit Numbers with the Distributive Property

6. Multiply Multi-Digit Numbers with the Standard Algorithm

Find all factor pairs for a whole number in the range 1-100. Recognize that a whole number is a multiple of each of its factors. Determine whether a given whole number in the range 1-100 is a multiple of a given one-digit number. Determine whether a given whole number in the range 1-100 is prime or composite.
Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
Explain patterns in the number of zeros of the product when multiplying a number by powers of 10, and explain patterns in the placement of the decimal point when a decimal is multiplied or divided by a power of 10. Use whole-number exponents to denote powers of 10.
