I use these as a review center for my students who need just a little bit more help with subtracting. This is a mixture of subtracting whole numbers and across zeros. Two answer sheets are provided: one that is blank for students who are higher in this skill and another with an “answer bank” to help students as they go along in the center.
You can do this as a “scoot” but I personally like using them as centers. The first day, I partner students up with a stronger mathematician to work on a few problems together. Once support has been establish, students are expected to solve the problems independently, though I do designate 1-2 students as “star” students who will answer questions while I’m in small groups.
Black and white for easy printing!
Specifically for standard: MCC4.NBT.4 which asks for students to fluently subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
