Multiple meaning words can be confusing to students with language delays as well as ESL students.
Multi-Meaning Mutts is a speech and language therapy activity to target multi-meaning words. The words in this packet are appropriate for all elementary school age students.
Two different card games are included in this packet:
A) "Matching definitions to a word" = 72 cards (24 vocabulary cards + 48 definition cards) separated into 3 different decks - labeled for easy sorting
How to play: Students must match definitions (dog cards) in their hands to the given vocabulary word (doghouse card). The first student to lose all his dog cards is the winner.
B) "Fill-in-the-blank sentences with a word" = 48 cards (16 vocabulary cards + 32 sentences) separated into 2 different decks (labeled for easy sorting)
How to play: Students must fill blank in the sentence (dog bone cards) in their hands to the given vocabulary word (dog dish card). The first student to lose all his dog bone cards is the winner.
