Critical Thinking & Writing in Math!
This resource includes six multi-part questions that require students to show their work and explain their mathematical thinking on paper. I have also tried to incorporate real life experiences, places, facts and data into the content of the problems.
- Adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators
- Using benchmark fractions to estimate
These questions focus on addition and subtraction of fractions with unlike denominators. Two of the questions require students to estimate using benchmark fractions. In addition, there is an answer key that includes a sample response for the extended response portion of the questions.
