Students will analyze how multi-step equations work through comical word problems that feature themselves (teacher will have to edit names). Each of the seven word problems has a darkly humorous scenario that is then represented by a multi-step equation. Each group creates a poster and delivers a presentation that:
1. Explains how the equation represents the scenario
2. Provides the solution and explains why it fits.
3. Shows how to algebraically solve it.
4. Shows two false moves that students might make when trying to solve.
My students loved this!
