This product contains an interactive notebook booklet that I use to introduce multi-step equations. Solving a multi-step equation boils down to being able to convert it back to an equation with variables on both sides. The only two strategies students need are the distributive property and combining like terms. This foldable includes these as a checklist for students to self-check to make sure they’ve done what they need to do to convert it back to an equation with variables on both sides. It may seem a bit redundant to have students do both options for solving an equation with variables on both sides (moving the variable to the left or right side). You may choose to have them only complete one side of the table if you are confident in their equations with variables on both sides skills.
