Product Description
This is an engaging, imaginary birthday dinner percent project that has worked very well with my 7th grade students in the past few school years. Included is:

- A foldable booklet in which students will choose 10 items from a food menu (you need to provide a variety of menus to students that you can print out online). Students will calculate the sub-total, discount, discount price, tax, tip, and total spent on their imaginary birthday dinner. In addition, students will have to explain the procedures that they followed to receive the final cost.

- A directions sheet that students can fill out prior to starting the project. (Guided notes)

- A project rubric to score students.

- A lesson plan explaining the procedures followed to administer the percent project.

This assignment can be completed in two 45-minute class periods.
