This packet is based on the Layer One Sounds and Sequence of the Orton Gillingham Phonics First Program. Layer One includes the introduction of all consonants, vowels, and digraphs. It was created to meet the needs of my students to build phonemic awareness, and hopefully will help your students as well!
The Multi-sensory Activities Packet contains:
1.) A Table of Contents - This set of multi-sensory activities was developed to take place over 10 weeks. This is only a suggestion. The activities can be used at a quicker or slower pace depending on your students needs.
2.) Key Word Picture Cards - Each sound starts with a Key Word Picture Card and are used to help students associate the sound each letter makes to the picture and word.
3.) Multi-sensory Activity Directions - Each activity starts with a set of procedures on how to complete the multi-sensory activity. These directions also include suggestions for differentiated instruction and extension activities.
4.) Multi-sensory Activities - These reproducible activities are hands on. They include a variety of skills, such as cutting, gluing, letter formation, and the introduction of CVC Words.
5.) Weekly Review Activities - At the end of each week, after learning 3-4 new sounds, there are three different review activities for students to participate in. This allows for flexibility and differentiation.
