Multisensory Grammar is published by Neuhaus. This is not the book. It's a lesson plan template outlining all the topics in the book and how many lessons are spent on each part of speech.

For teachers who buy the book or attend the MSG training, Multisensory Grammar is a wonderful program that teaches a color coding system for the parts of speech and comes with sufficient worksheets that are not over-whelming or confusing. Each part of speech is on it's own colored paper. So, students build sentences with the flashcards, understanding exactly where the red or yellow cards go in a sentence, no matter what word it is. (An article always comes before the noun. An adjective always comes before the noun. This is all learned with a color-coded paper manipulative.)

I was teaching ELL students when I did a training workshop from a Special Ed Resource teacher. I highly recommend the book and training from Neuhaus because it's perfect for all grade levels and learning levels.

This file is only an outline I made, of all chapters in the original book. It includes what each section covers and how many days it takes to teach every part of speech with the explicit MSG handbook. The file also contains some former ELL standards from Arizona so you can see how it also ties in to ELL curriculum, and there's also a lesson plan template with a line for engaging students (used in Madeline Hunter's lesson plans). There's a section to write a Make Your Day expectation, and boxes to check for which form of evaluation you will use with the lesson; principals always love that!

Neuhuas publishing's description of the product is: "Explicit, Systematic Teaching of the Parts of Speech and Sentence Structure for All Grades."

I haven't taught English Immersion for over 8 years, and therefore have not used this file in a while. Since 285 people have downloaded it, I would love to hear what grade or subject you teach with MS Grammar and if it's personal choice or district adoption. I feel so lucky to have been introduced to Multi-Sensory Grammar, but it seems that not that many people are familiar with it.
