Every year, I have a students pick a country and do an in depth project and presentation. Students are expected to submit a typed written project, as well as a visual project (a poster, slideshow, website, etc).
This file includes detailed instructions for the written project as well as the visual project. It also includes a student project guide, which is a guided handout to make sure students do proper research and plug that information into the right section of the project. I find this helps ensure that students actually produce what I've asked for and also proves to me that they've applied themselves.
The project has students research topics such as:
- Geographical factors relating to their country (location, physical features, landforms, natural resources, etc)
- Demographics (population, age/sex composition, life expectancy, etc)
- Economic Development (money, products, unemployment)
- Arts and Religion (food, national dress, religion, cultural issues, architecture, etc).
