Product Description
Creation and explanation myths were the very beginning of storytelling. All cultures have myths, making them a great start or addition to a multicultural unit. This lesson takes the students through the characteristics of a myth, asks them to read and analyze the Australian Aboriginal creation myth and the explanation myth "How Bear Lost its Tail," and then has them create their own myth explaining the creation of something.

Lesson includes:
--Packet with notes (answers at the end), reading questions for both myths, instructions for myth assignment, and peer review questions
--Full text of "How Bear Lost its Tail"
--Full text of Australian Aboriginal Creation Myth
--Myth rubrics
