Winter holidays. Holidays around the world. In November and December, these are common themes in many classrooms. These multicultural holiday poems will provide added diversity to your study of different winter holidays and celebrations around the world. The thirteen original poems will honor the beliefs of the diverse students in your classroom. I've researched the history and traditions of various holidays and cultural celebrations, including Diwali, Saint Nicholas Day, Santa Lucia's Day, Hanukkah, Yule, Las Posadas, Christmas, Three Kings Day, La Befana, and Chinese New Year. I've even included a poem for your children who are Jehovah's Witnesses called Everyday is a Holiday. I included background information about each of the holidays as well as a Venn diagram and stationery to encourage student response. The poems are written in a variety of formats. The versions with colored clip art are perfect for projecting, while the black and white versions may be reproduced for student use.
