Multilingual Merry Christmas Posters - No Prep

Celebrate Christmas around the world with these posters that show how 26 countries say Merry Christmas! Each 8.5” x 11” poster presents the Merry Christmas greeting in the center of the page. In the corners, students will see the name of the country whose greeting is displayed, a map of the country, its flag, and a holiday decoration. A holiday word search puzzle listing the names of all countries is also included along with 6 suggestions for using the posters to extend students’ learning.

These Merry Christmas posters represent 26 countries on 5 continents and present greetings in 23 languages. (English is represented by 2 countries and Spanish by 3 countries.) The countries represented in this resource were selected because they have large Christian populations and because they provide geographical diversity.

The countries in this Christmas resource are:

* Armenia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Congo, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Moldova, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Zambia

The posters have borders in either red or green. In the upper left corner of each poster, there is a map of the country and in the upper right corner, the country's flag is shown. The bottom right corner shows the name of the country and there is a holiday design in the bottom left corner. There are 2 different holiday designs, for variety, on the Merry Christmas posters.

A page listing all the countries in alphabetical order is provided, along with a decorative cover page to help you keep the materials organized.

Another page lists 6 ideas for how you can use the posters to extend your students learning. Suggestions include a research and graphing task, researching religious and culinary customs of the countries, a mapping task, and finding out how Merry Christmas is said in the languages of the countries in this resource.

Also included in this print-and-go holiday product is a word search puzzle with answer key. The word search is in the shape of a Christmas tree and the words are the names of the countries on the posters.
