Product Description
In this activity I took 101 multiple meaning words and created 3 sentence cards for each word (3 separate definitions for each word) with multiple choice options. This is a great activity to increase vocabulary skills and practice using context clues to define words with multiple definitions.

Materials
• List of the 101 Multiple Meaning Vocabulary Words
• 303 Cards
• Board Game

Activities
• As practice in a small group
-Give each child a stack of cards
-Have them read each sentence out loud and choose the
correct answer
-Have them explain why they think their choice is the
correct answer (what context clues they used from the
sentence)
-If the cards are laminated you can have them use dry
erase markers to circle their answers (or put the entire
sheet in a sheet protector)
• As review or test prep
-Use as flashcards for practice and test preparation
• For higher level children
-Read the sentence out loud and have the child define
the word without seeing the multiple choice options
-Have them justify their definition with context clues
-Have them create their own example sentence using the
same word and meaning in a completely different
sentence
• Homework
-Send home a couple sheets for homework, have the
child circle the correct answer and underline or highlight
the context clues
• Game
-Put a stack of cards on the table
-Before each child can roll and take a turn they must
draw a card and correctly choose the definition
-If they get the definition right then they can role the die
and take a turn
