This test prep activity prepares students for this type of question:

In which of the following sentences does the underlined word have the same meaning as in the first sentence?

This is a tricky question for many kids.

This engaging activity puts a fun spin on practicing for those tricky test questions! It also makes a creative bulletin board or school hallway display! It can even be used as a valuable addition to your students' interactive notebooks!

I split this activity into two days.

Day 1- students complete the Multiple Meaning Words Worksheet. They read 12 sentences with a base sentence, and then three multiple choice sentences that contain the same multiple meaning word. Students must determine which of the multiple choice sentences uses the homograph in the same way as the homograph is used in the base sentence. When they finish, they turn it in for you to check their answers. (Therefore, this activity can even be used as an assessment!) Then they begin their craftivity by drawing illustrations to match the sentences in the camera and filmstrip (see the preview)

Day 2- students assemble the craftivity. They color and cut out the cameras and filmstrips and arrange them on a large piece of construction paper.

This product includes detailed instructions (with photos!!) for your students to follow. It also includes a teacher instruction page that lists the exact materials you need to prepare for this craftivity.
