Description
This 72 page comprehensive mini unit targets a total of 64 multiple meaning word pairs in a systematic format. Split into four sets of 16 words each, the units may be used individually throughout the school year, or used consecutively. It is perfect for speech-language therapy, ELL, or RtI groups.
Each of the four sets is divided into 18 pages, with 16 target words per set (including words such as season, tackle, suit, soil, and state) that each have two definitions, which are included on a master sheet of words/definitions. In each set, there are four pages with 32 total picture cards that include definitions and related pictures. There are also two pages with eight words on each page, with space to write the definitions. Five bingo cards and two sets of worksheets (multiple choice/fill in the blank) are also included for each set.
Some of the target words include: address, credit, bluff, alarm, current, foil, jar, key, master, level, raise, monitor, scale, patient, second, channel, draft, and season.
These sets are designed to be used for about 4th through 8th grades. Each full set kept my seventh grade students occupied during four or five thirty minute sessions, and were also used for review later in the year. For my 4th-6th grade students, I used one page (8 words with 16 definitions) at a time successfully for shorter 15-20 minute sessions.
