Multiple meaning words/homonyms are a very important part of standards from kindergarten through high school. I have found that children with critical thinking difficulties cannot visualize the different ways the words can be used. Therefore, picture cards become very useful to help them visualize the differences. Even middle school students (5-8th grades at my school) benefit from the picture cards when first beginning this concept. It often helps “the light come on” for them and then they can perform this skill without the picture cards for reference.
There are 60 homonym cards; 30 pictures and 30 clue cards (two different definitions and a picture to go with each definition-they include; diamond, bat, bowl, cut, mouse, fall, foot, ring, note, plant, cold, cook, bark, fly, tie, table, watch, punch, saw, ship, check, lap, duck, fence, kid, pack, palm, park, sink, skip). Print out all cards on card stock and laminate for extra durability.
Noun and verb review to show students how multiple meaning words can be used once as a noun and once as a verb.

Cut and paste worksheets; the picture is glued in the box with the correct definition.
