Students use these mats to practice decimal place value. Standard form goes in the middle.
Print on cardstock and insert into a document protector. Students can use these over and over again with a dry erase marker.
They can be used in a variety of ways. Students can use dice, playing cards, or decimal cards to draw a random number. I have student roll a dice numbered 1-3. That tells them how many tiles to draw. I use a set of decimals tiles (they are separated into tenths, hundredths and thousandths). Students draw that many tiles, but they can only take one from each place value. They put them together and have to determine which card to use in order to represent the place value of their decimal.
