This Common Core aligned resource (K.CC.1) features four “unique” pocket folder sorts designed to provide practice counting to ten, and recognizing and sorting multiple representations for the numbers 1 to 10.
What makes these pocket folder sorts “unique” is the way the original two-pocket folder is refolded to create four narrow pockets perfect for sorting cards and holding the half-sheet worksheets. The worksheets are designed to provide a quick check for understanding, using pencil or crayon. Two copies of each worksheet appear on one page to use less paper and ink. Make half as many copies as you need and cut vertically. Since there are 6-7 worksheets for each folder sort, you can select the ones you want and copy them front-back. This allows you to differentiate the practice based on the specific needs of your students.
I include step-by-step directions with photos to show you how to prepare everything. You will need two-pocket folders, tape, scissors or a paper cutter, and a laminator.
