Description: This sorting activity is a great way to get studentsmthinking about number patterns and rules in multiples of 10, before actually teaching a lesson on it! This will help to engage students in the lessons to follow and also help them to feel responsibility for their learning! The activity includes a discussion piece and justifying answers, so that students better learn how to explain their answers. It can be great for independent work or group work, whichever is your preference!
Included are printable number cards for sorting, blank tables with column headers containing “x10”, “x100”, “x1,000”, and “x10,000”, instructions for use, and an answer key.
To complete the activity you will need glue sticks, scissors, and snack baggies/envelopes.
