What better way to have students understand multiplication arrays than program them!
You will need Scratch for this to work. You can download it for FREE from https://scratch.mit.edu/scratch2download/
(Works with Scratch 1.4 and 2.0)
Included are instructions of how to make a programmable array and also various levels of technology/ICT skills.
It can also play sounds, change colours and hide the array with a black circle. Students can program to prompt for the answer and test whether it is correct or not.
A great technology/maths activity where you can teach the concept of arrays and embed technology into your teaching.
I've also included a set up multiplication array flash cards as a BONUS!
