This is a hybrid version of mad minute math!
My kids HATED MMM, but I know that they need to learn their facts so I developed the multiplication challenge!
The multiplication challenge is a way to encourage students to learn their multiplication facts. It is a game where students have to pass each multiplication level in order to move onto the next.
This package includes a tile for each level (multiplication facts 0-12) and each quiz that they need to take to pass the level. This includes quizzes for facts 0-12.
I cut out each tile and glued it onto a large piece of card stock, and then mounted all of the tiles, 0-12, onto a large poster and laminated it. I hung it in my classroom. Each student has their name on a clothes pin, and they got to decorate it. Each time they pass a level they get to move their pin to the next level.
The students pass if they can complete a quiz in less than 2 minutes, without missing more than 1 fact. It's not something that we do every day, but something that when they feel ready they can try.
It's been working incredibly well in my classroom and the students absolutely LOVE it!
