Product Description
Are you looking for something a little more exciting and colorful to add to your 2- and 3- digit multiplication lessons? Take a look at this craftivity! It focuses on the traditional multiplication algorithm, and ties in the original acronym "Many Zoos... Many Animals!"

Students begin by completing a worksheet that contains four multiplication story problems. (One problem contains a 3x1-digit problem, two problems contain a 2x2-digit problem, and the final problem contains a 3x2-digit problem.) Students must show their multiplication work in the boxes accompanying each story.

When their answers are correct, they will assemble the craftivity. They will glue their work to the construction paper, and then glue the matching image from the story problem over their work, creating a flap that can be opened to reveal the answer. The story problems are glued beneath the images. (Complete student-friendly directions are included.)

I created this craftivity as a follow-up activity to my "Introduction to Multi-Digit Multiplication PowerPoint. Click on the following link if you want to check it out: 2- and 3-digit Multiplication: An Interactive PowerPoint (using the traditional algorithm)
