Looking for a new and engaging way to practice basic facts with your students? Need a whole group activity? How about a small group activity or center game? Look no more!
This "POP" Game is a fact fluency game I created to help my summer school students practice and become more fluent in their basic addition and subtraction math facts. It can be used in any grade for additional fact fluency practice (multiplication edition to come soon!) - and yes, it can be played teacher-guided in whole or small group, or student-guided as a center activity!
Students solve basic facts, but must pay close attention to the growing number of POP numbers that come up during the game! If the answer to a problem is a POP number, the student must say "POP" or sit out (whole group play) or lose a turn (small group/center play). As the POP numbers grow more numerous, the quicker and more aware the students must be!
My students enjoy the added twist in this game, and are engaged in learning their basic facts! I hope yours will too :)
