Product Description
Do your students have difficulty memorizing their multiplication facts? Here is a way to make students motivated, and parents involved in student learning.
Introducing, facts on a ring! Each multiplication fact, 0-11 is on its own strip. Once the student passes all of the facts for that number, they move on to the next, and the teacher checks off their name on the data tracking sheet. This helps you to keep track of where each student is.
There are a few ways to use this system. Here is how I use it in my classroom:
*Student Copy: Print, laminate and cut each strip, 0-11. Then hole punch the top left corner and put them on a binder ring. *Teacher Copy: Print (I copy these in black and white) and keep extra copies of each fact in a plastic bin/bucket/small crate/binder (whatever you choose). As the student tells you his/her answer, you check it off on the student form and highlight or circle the facts that they missed. Send that strip home. Parents should be on the lookout for this on testing day.
I choose a certain day of the week to test, so parents have plenty of time to practice with their kids. In my class for example, the kids and parents always knew that Tuesdays was our fact test day. As the kids are doing an independent activity (such as read to self), I would call back the kids individually for fact testing. As the year goes on, this takes less and less time, since more kiddos are passing. At that time, I would differentiate to division facts on a ring. (Similarly, if a student is having difficulty with multiplication and needs more basic fact practice with addition, I would would work on these first and work my way up to multiplication.)
When a student finishes all 11 facts, they earn a brag tag (two options included, plus a black line copy).
I included black lines of every item for ink saving purposes.

If you have any questions, feel free ask. I have seen this system work successfully in my classroom and others, and I hope you enjoy it too!
