This pirate themed multiplication fact game covers facts to 10x10. Students choose a card and if they answer the problem correctly, they get the number of coins listed on the card. Also included are luck cards - some good luck, some bad luck. Students will lose some coins or gain some according to the card. This aspect of the game makes is perfect to use in a social skills group for students who need to practice tolerating setbacks or being gracious winners. The outcome of the game depends on luck as much as math skill. I've found that this really challenges my students who are struggling with social skills.
I let my beginning multiplication students use their multiplication chart the first few times we play the game. Both a blank and completed multiplication chart are included.
I use plastic coins for the game, but I have included printable coins if you need them.
