Multiplication facts are more fun to practice as a game. This is a very basic, simple activity that allows students to practice and learn multiplication facts safely with no stress. It's a self-checking, multiplication fact practice for students to race against their own times or use no time at all.
All you need are the practice mats and the number tiles, cut out and ready. This “game” was designed for students who are learning their multiplication facts or who need more intense practice with basic facts. A timer is optional for students because they LOVE to see their times improve!
Note: 0's and 1's have been omitted because most students don't need much practice on those numbers.
Students will simply start the timer and proceed to place the number tiles on top of the corresponding facts. The top portion of the practice mat lists the facts in order. The bottom half shows the facts all mixed up.
*This game was purposely designed to allow the students to “cheat” by looking at the top portion. It provides confidence as their time improves, and students soon learn to solve the problems without relying on the top portion.
The top portion of the Practice Mat allows the students to check their own accuracy, fix their mistakes, and it also serves as the answer key.
