Your students are sure to have fun learning and practicing their multiplication facts with this “COOL” ice cream themed set of activities and incentives!
*The first 32 pages are designed so that students can practice their times tables by matching the product (ice cream scoop) to the factors (ice cream cone). Ice cream cone pages can be copied front and back to minimize use of paper.
These practice sets can be laminated and used time and again in stations, can be put into file folder games, or can be given to each individual student to color, cut, paste, and practice.
*This packet also includes quizzes that test multiplication facts from 2-12 as well as three quizzes that have all of the facts mixed up (a total of 14 quizzes). These quizzes allow the teacher to test students’ knowledge of basic facts in the course of a minute. I like to call these quizzes the “1 Minute Cool Down”.
The teacher is able to keep track of student progress through the use of a student tracker table.
Students are also able to chart and keep track of their own progress through their very own ice cream scoop chart. They can color each scoop as they master each multiplication fact.
To add to this motivator, the teacher can use the large cone and scoops included in this packet to keep track of the class progress by posting the ice cream scoops somewhere where the whole class can see it. Scoops can be added one at a time as the whole class or most of the class masters each fact, or names of students who master each fact can be placed on each scoop of ice cream. The scoops and cone be copied onto colored paper or can be colored by hand.
*Finally, we can’t have an ice cream themed multiplication product without a banana split! . Each time a fact is mastered, students are to color, cut, and begin building their own banana split. At the teacher’s discretion, if student completes their banana split, then they can actually get a real banana split as a reward for mastering all of their facts!
