Multiplication Flashcards with Value Grids/Array Models (1x-10x)
(provide extra support, helpful for slower learners)
3 parts to each flash card:
-picture: array model/value grid
-multiplication problem (factor x factor)
-answer (product as number and word)
My Step-By-Step Process:
1. Use the whole flashcard. It can be folded in half.
Students are provided with an array model/ a value grid
that illustrates exactly what happens when a number
is multiplied. A helpful first step for future
2. Cut the flashcard in half.
Students can practice multiplying (minus the array)
now with their newly gained understanding of how a
number’s value multiplies.
3. Cut the flashcard in half, again.
Students can now practice basic multiplication by
matching all the correct cards together: perhaps
by playing a multiplication memory game.
A .pdf document. Each flashcard a full page. Must print as MULTIPLE PAGES!
I recommend printing as follows:
Page Sizing: Multiples
Pages Per Sheet: 4
