Google Slides Multiplication and PowerPoint Game! Never renew a subscription again with our ⭐ SELF CHECKING ⭐ math facts fluency system that incorporates interactive digital practice with standard multiplication timed tests and progress monitoring. I offer both google slides and a similar Powerpoint option! Students are given immediate feedback and paperless multiplication practice! Perfect for google classroom!

I put this together because I needed a simple way to improve multiplication fact fluency in my classroom. It works on computers, tablets, & phones. I was also sick of having to renew my membership for yearly math facts practice websites or beg my administration to renew it for us. When you purchase this resource it will stay on your computer & in your purchases FOREVER. No more annual membership site renewals! Hard copy timed tests & digital practice - Now that's value!!

    Google Slides

The game is played very similarly in google slides, Click present and they are asked to choose the correct answer. If they are correct, they will see a correct slide with the problem answered correctly. If they are incorrect, they will be directed to try again.

    Power Point

To play in power point, students need to click on the correct product button below the problem. If they are correct, the answer is reveled, applause, and a star spins onto the screen. They can then click the next button on the bottom of the screen.

If they are incorrect, they will be asked to click the back button and try again. It provides instant feedback, and confirms the correct answer, as the blue circle fades away to reveal the entire number sentence.

It is played in slide show mode. Just click the slide show tab in the tool bar. Then, click from beginning.*This product was created with the latest version of PowerPoint (2016). The effects and transitions may not display properly on older versions or google slides.

Please note that the honor system comes into play when using these games. Because of Google Slides limitations, students may be able to use the arrow keys/mouse roller to scroll through the slides on a computer. (This does not happen with a mobile device.) Although students cannot scroll through the PowerPoint version, they can use the next button to advance the game without answering the questions. Most students will not figure out these short cuts. If they do, they will find that it is pointless to scroll ahead because scores are not kept.

Quizzes & Progress Monitoring Save time and energy with my simplified system for practicing / tracking multiplication mastery. Instead of having 9 tests to pass out to various students, I combined our multiplication practice into 2’s & 3’s, 4’s & 5’s, 6’s & 7’s, 8’s & 9’s. Having a total of only 4 possible tests greatly eases prep & setup yet still allows for differentiated student practice! (Single fact tests are also included.)

Set up: The quizzes are placed upside down on students desks. When I say “go,” students have 1 minute to complete as many multiplication problems as they can. I ring a bell at one minute, & ask them to hold it up in the air. If they finish before the bell I ask them to hold it up, and I collect it.

Quick tip: This serves as an excellent transition activity. I like to have a student helper pass them out during recess or before school, so when the kids come in we are all set to go! I keep my tracking sheet and the quizzes in a folder that makes it a snap to pass out (even if I use class time to do so).

Correcting: Having them trade with an assigned partner to correct provides additional practice, and they don’t even realize it. I have them correct each others quizzes, circling any incorrect answers. ( I allow them to use multiplication cheat sheets or calculators to correct.) My district suggests that students complete 18 problems correctly in one minute to be deemed proficient with that fact. Once they are able to correctly answer 18 problems in a minute (in 3rd grade) they advance to the next quiz and earn stars for their star chart. (Use your professional judgement to adjust this proficiency # depending on age & writing abilities.)

Practice: I have students practice with my digital resources or flash cards before retesting.

Motivation: The “Watch My Progress” tracking chart motivates students to master their math facts. I encourage them to try to increase their fact proficiency by 1 fact each time they test. Most students will feel that is a manageable goal and gain confidence as they watch their progress. As they meet their goal of 18 facts in a minute, they are rewarded with a star for their Multiplication Minute Star Chart.

    * Each sheet contains 3 versions, so students do not begin to memorize the order of the answers.

Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
