This could be adapted to be used in many ways. In my classroom, I give students two minutes to complete the 20 problems for each quiz. We do a new set of multiples every week and students have all week to study for the quiz on Friday. For every quiz they make 100 on, they earn a new piece. This space incentive could be used in a few different ways. The planets are sized to resemble our actual solar system, however students can be creative and make their own solar system. The final planet is designed to be Earth; students would end their multiplication adventure back on our home planet. Students would earn a new piece of the solar system every time they master a set of multiples. Students could also display all of the pieces and move their rocket ship to each new planet they earn. These are just a few ideas for ways to use this resource, please experiment and see what works for your classroom. If you come up with a great idea, share in the comments.
