### Description

Make multiplication properties fun and hands-on for your third grade students! This grocery store themed bundle includes 8 multiplication activities covering the 3.OA multiplication standards. The activities cover understanding of the commutative, distributive, identity, associative, and zero property of multiplication.

This resource was designed to use as individual 'stations' during a classroom themed transformation! However, the activities may be used during guided math groups, centers or as a 'buddy' activity.

Response sheets and answer keys are included for all activities!

Here's What's Included:

• Multiplication Property Posters- Posters to display which provide definitions, example, and image to match each multiplication property. Can also be printed in smaller size and glued in notebooks.

• Vocabulary Flap Book- Record the definition and examples of multiplication key terms.

• Sort Out the Properties- Sorting Activity: Students will read each equation and decide if it's an example of the commutative, identity, associative, distributive, or zero property of multiplication. Students will place the equation under the correct header.

(Includes scannable QR code to self-check answers)

• Throw it in the Bag!- Spin/Roll an Equation: Students will roll the dice or spin the spinner to create a multiplication equation. (Use three die for the associative property) Student can use manipulatives or the small grocery food pieces to model their equation. Use an expo marker to record the equation on the mat.

• Throw it in the Cart!- Associative Property Cards: Students will choose a multiplication sentence card and use manipulatives or small grocery food pieces to model the equation. Use an expo marker to record the equation on the mat.

• Factor or Product?- Sorting Activity: Students will reach each equation and decide if the highlighted number(s) are the factors or product in the equation. Students will place the equation under the correct header.

• Grocery Store Problem Solving- Task Cards & Game Board: Students will solve a variety of multiplication-related questions to move across the game board.

Includes multi-step, Part A/B, and 'Select all that apply' questions.
