Math Fluency V covers CCS 4.NBT.5 – Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Multiplying 2 and 3-digits times 3-digits is also included for practice. My students seem to have more trouble with 2-digits times 2-digits, so I have 4 weeks covering that type of problem, and then mixed in with the other problems in the weeks following – also, 1 week is entirely 3-digits times 3-digits problems. Hopefully with repeated practice they become more comfortable and more skilled at correctly working these problems. A lattice sample page is included. If you have never used lattice, you might want to check it out. It is great for those that have trouble with multi-digit multiplication. It does take a little longer (especially drawing the boxes and lines), but it is helpful with some students, and a great way to check for others. If it is hard to understand my example, you can find information about it online. There are 3 variations of the worksheets with 23 sheets total. Each worksheet for 2 of the versions has 25 problems (5 problems each day or however works best for you) with boxes underneath for the students to solve the problems. 2 pages are included with all 200 problems (25/week), if you prefer you can give students a copy to keep in a folder for the entire nineweeks and then answer on another page. Both types work well with the kids. I give my kids the worksheet for the week, and they use it as early morning work (5 problems/day), and it is due on Friday. It is their daily routine and they do a wonderful job with both formats. Answer Key is provided. Math Fluency I, II, III, IV, and V are available individually or together. Hope this is helpful!!! Thank you, and have a GREAT YEAR!!!
