This really is an amazing product to encourage multiplication fact mastery! It was incredibly motivational for my students and I didn't have to keep nagging them (or their parents) to practice their multiplication facts. The day after I explained the competition and showed them a preview, children came in with their own flashcards and parents asked for extra practice sheets. We all know that there is no way to teach higher level multiplication and division without having multiplication facts memorized. From my 11 years of teaching, this was the absolute, hands down best way to get students to learn multiplication facts.
The powerpoint looks simple, but it took me forever to make and get the numbering, timings, transitions and answer key just right. I am going to raise the price once I sell some and get some reviews.
Having a competition got the students really pumped up and gave them a reason to learn their facts and a definitive date to have them memorized by. We conducted the competition within our grade level and then did a 3rd grade verses 4th grade competition.
The purpose of the game is to meet the expectation in 3.OA.C.7 / 3.OA.7 that by the end of Grade 3, students will know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
I attached the answer documents at the end of the powerpoint as well as the answer key. Unfortunately, it is a little awkward to access them. If you would like word copies of these materials write me in the questions section and I will send them.
