22 black and white printable practice sheets to introduce, build, and reinforce a conceptual understanding of multiplication! This resource is designed to build a foundation for multiplication with second and third grade students. The activities can also be used as an intervention for older students still struggling with the concept of multiplication.

The packet begins with concrete representations of multiplication (arrays, drawings of equal groups, repeated addition) before finally introducing and providing practice with multiplication equations (e.g. 4x3) to represent problems. The numbers used in this packet are sums & products of the factors 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, with the largest problem covered being 6X6=36. The focus of the packet is to build a concrete foundation for multiplication before working with larger numbers or memorizing multiplication facts.

Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
