QR Codes are a fun and engaging tool to use in the classroom. I’ve used them kinders to middle school with the same response. Student’s love them!
QR stands for “quick response”. They are similar to a barcode but can store much more information. You access the information, or in this case, multiplication equation by scanning the QR code using an iPod, iPad, smart phone, tablet or chromebook (just add the chrome extension).
Search the app store for any free QR code reader.
Simply print and laminate the cards and you are ready to roll.
My multiplication QR codes can be used in a variety of ways. They can be used in a center or posted around the room for a scavenger hunt. The students scan the QR code with the word start, which leads them to an equation. The answer to the equation then leads them to the next QR code.
