This is an engaging and collaborative way students can practice multiplying single and double-digit numbers. Many of the problems lend themselves to using common core type strategies, such as halving/doubling and zero patterns to solve. Students pair up and take turns completing a problem. While one student is completing the problem, the other is observing and providing feedback. Both students are engaged in the skill and practicing it in a fun way. This Kagan-style activity promotes collaboration, problem-solving skills, communication, and peer-assisted learning. PDF file.
