"GO and Capture the Magma Shark Scavenger Hunt" game is a "Move Around Math" puzzle solving game that gets students out of their seats as they use number strategies to solve mixed up multiplication problems. While designed for fourth and fifth grade classrooms, it would also work well in many sixth grade classrooms.
Your students must be intrigued with the popular new game where they use their phones to go outside, hunt for, and capture anime characters. You know they will be missing playing this game when they are in school. This "Capture the Monsters" game will allow your students to have fun, think critically about math, and capture anime characters at the same time and they can do it during class time.
There are a total of 15 unique animal monsters created by Illumismart which can be found here.
This game allows students to capture the three Pyro (fire monsters). Other "Capture the Monster" games will allow your students to capture the other 12 monsters.
This is one of three games included in the "Go, Capture the Fire Monsters" multiplication puzzle scavenger hunt games. This game includes 10 station cards (which can be taped on the walls of the classroom), student work sheet, an answer sheet and colored and black and white versions of the Magma Shark reward cards.
If your class enjoyed the challenge of this game, there are five different sets of game packages using these monster characters. Each set has three games in it with a chance to earn three different monster cards. There are 15 monsters in all to collect throughout the various games. Each set also includes bonus reward cards and booklet cover pages so students can collect and organize the reward cards.
Here are the five different sets as well as a money saving bundle containing all games.
