Scoot is a great way to have students develop procedural fluency with a topic, and the resulting work provides invaluable formative assessment data that can inform future instruction! Not to mention, it is a lot of fun!
The Scoot Game provided has 12 “grade level” cards and a recording sheet with 12 spaces to record student responses as well as 12 “modified” cards with a modified recording sheet to scaffold for struggling students. The focus of both sets is on repeated addition, “groups of”, arrays and multiplication equations.
In our inclusion classroom, we set up two scoot areas with 12 students in each. You could do the same by using both sets OR just making two copies of Set One, depending on your need.
