Looking for a new way to help kiddos master their multiplication facts? Look no further, SKIP COUNTING is here! Have you ever noticed how students easily pick up on 1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s multiplication facts? It's because they are familiar with their products from learning how to skip-count by those numbers in previous grades! Skip-counting is a great strategy to help all students learn those multiplication facts, especially those that have trouble "just memorizing them."
This product can be used in a variety of ways! Here are a few ways I’ve incorporated them in my own classroom:
• Classroom posters and pocket-chart cards
• Teacher, small-group, or partner activity (can be used like a puzzle or number sort)
• Math or fact-practice center (includes an optional, example recording sheet)
• Skip-count song/chant cue cards
Included in this product are ideas, tips/tricks, and four sets of cards: one set in all black and white, another set that is color-coded by each skip-counting number, a “rainbow set” within each skip-counting number, and a “gray-scale set” that goes from dark to light gray within each skip-counting number. All of the sets include answer keys at the end of each set. There is also a blank card within each set if you wish to ask your students to extend the pattern. You can print these cards on paper and laminate (for student-use), colored paper, or on card stock. You can also adjust the size of the cards by going into your printer options! You can use the sets and color options for your own preference or for easy differentiation.
I always appreciate your support and your feedback. If you have any questions, suggestions, comments, or personal-resource requests please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Happy teaching!
