Product Description

Are you ready to go to the circus?? This activity will make your students feel like they've been transported to a true circus in this real-world activity while also learning about multiplication strategies at the same time! When they complete all 10 multiplication challenges, they get to celebrate (I love to give them some popcorn as a special treat!).

If you're looking for ways to make more meaningful connections to math in the real world, this is the activity for you! Students will embark upon a day as a circus performer while practicing this difficult math concept at the same time. Multiplication can be difficult for third graders and this activity is great practice!

⭐ What is This? ⭐

Print out all 10 color posters and all 10 aligned challenges. Distribute them around your room. Give each child a recording sheet. Explain to students that they are in the circus and need to complete all challenges. They have to find all the challenges you've left around the classroom and find the answers to each one. They use the recording sheet to mark off each challenge as they go.

There is also an additional writing activity where students scan the QR codes on each poster and find out fun facts about the ocean.

This math activity is perfect for third graders. It aligns with 3.OA.1.
