Give daily practice with several multiplication strategies including equal groups, arrays, repeated addition, number lines, bar models, skip counting, and commutative property in a fun little book!
After establishing expectations and routines, this takes only about 5 minutes for the students to complete during our Math block. Multiplication Fact of the Day gives them repeated practice with the conceptual understanding of multiplication.
1. 5 strategies page: repeated addition, equal groups, bar model, array, and number line (one with a number line drawn, one without so students draw their own)
2. 5 strategies page: number line replaced with “word problem” so students can practice writing multiplication word problems.
3. 6 Strategies page: repeated addition, equal groups, bar model, array, commutative property, and skip counting.
** NOTE: The "1" times tables do not have a way to do "repeated addition". Some of my students figured this out themselves, but others made the mistake of doing repeated addition anyways. For example: 1 X 1 = 1 is not "1 + 1 = 2" You may need to address this in class!
