This quick mini lesson will get your students thinking about how we can make multiplication easier! This is the last of three days, where multiplication strategies are explored! I used this a quick whole group lesson, followed by small group instruction and individual practice.
This lesson explores how we can add onto known problems to explore unknown tough problems. For example, if I know 5 x 7 then I know should know 6 x 7! This explores misconceptions, defines the trick, uses manipulatives and is fun!
