I have been teaching multiplication with my third graders for 8 years now! I have found tricks that help my students remember the best strategies to use for different facts. The distributive property is so hard for students to understand. I call in the rainbow jump with my students. I also use split sticks so they understand they are splitting up one of the numbers. So many of our students need visuals to help recall and remember. Try grouping your facts by strategies, and this rainbow one will help!
I like to use this booklet as a send home for parents that are working with their child at home. Most of my generation just learned to memorize all multiplication facts. It helps give the parents the tools to help with a more useful strategy.
This booklet would also work well in a small group setting.
The booklet is also designed to run copies for two students at once. I like to staple first, and then cut on the big blade after the staples.
