I love using task cards in my classroom. They are a nice break from traditional school work. They learn so much more than what's on each card. They learn how to cooperate with others and gain valuable social skills.
This set of 48 task cards is aligned to CCSS 3.OA.1. This group models the process of multiplication for groups of 5. Cards include arrays, number lines, skip counting, and equal groups. Students locate four different cards that model the same multiplication expression.
The cards can also be used as regular task cards too. There are a few ideas on how to use them in games as well. There is a scoot response form and answer key included.
Although these cards were designed for 3rd grade, they would make a great introduction to multiplication for 2nd grade. Please keep in mind that these task cards go all the way up to the product of 5 x 12. Having been a 4th-grade teacher, I know those 4th graders still need a little review too!
I included the option to print the answers on the back of each task card. Response forms and an answer key are included.
There is a 12 (half) page booklet for independent practice. This practice book also models the process of multiplication with arrays, number lines, equal groups, and skip counting.
For those concerned about printing in color, there is a black and white version included.
Thanks for taking the time to take a look at this product. -Copper Classroom
