Product Description

Grab your magic hat because it's time to do some MAGIC! This activity will make your students feel like they're really magicians in this real-world activity while also learning about multiplication and division unknown factors at the same time! When they complete all 10 multiplication and division challenges, they get to celebrate (I like to give them a little prize at the end!).

If you're looking for ways to make more meaningful connections to math in the real world, this is the activity for you! Students will embark upon a day as a magician while practicing this difficult math concept at the same time. Multiplication and division unknown factors and fact families can be difficult for third graders and this activity is great practice!

⭐ What is This? ⭐

Help your students become math experts in your classroom! Students complete 10 multiplication and division challenges that are real-world related.

Print out all 10 color posters and all 10 aligned challenges. Distribute them around your room. Give each child a recording sheet. Explain to students that they are magicians today and will complete all challenges. They have to find all the challenges you've left around the classroom and find the answers to each one. They use the recording sheet to mark off each challenge as they go.

There is also an additional writing activity where students scan the QR codes on each poster and find out fun facts about magic and famous magicians!

This math activity is perfect for third graders. It aligns with 3.OA.4 and 3.OA.6.
