This is a differentiated multiplication and division quiz. The multiplication problems are two digit by two digit, and the division problems are dividing a 3 digit by a 1 digit number. The quiz is differentiated because it includes multiple choice answers for the first 4 problems. It then becomes a bit more challenging when the students are asked to solve with no multiple choice answers. Finally the quiz ends with a two part brief constructed response in which they have to determine if they need to multiply or divide and then explain how they solved. We instructed our students to use the box method and the algorithm to solve the multiplication problems. For division, we used the standard algorithm by writing out multiples of each place value as well as partial product. This product could also be used for guided/independent practice, classwork, and homework.
